 REGULATIONS
(NEW, effective from the first semester of the 2026–2027 academic year)
on the Denys ANTIPOV Charitable Scholarship
for students of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology
of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree Programs
Specialty 035.066 Philology (Oriental Languages and Literatures (including Translation Studies) – Korean as the First Foreign Language)
 
  1. The charitable scholarship named after Denys Antipov, a Korean studies translator, lecturer of the Department  of Far Eastern and Southeast Asian Languages and Literatures of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology,  lieutenant of the aerial reconnaissance unit of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, and Knight of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III Class, who heroically lost his life on May 11, 2022, while defending the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine (hereinafter referred to as “the Scholarship”), is awarded to undergraduate students of the 1st–4th years of study (up to four recipients) and first-year master’s students (up to one recipient) enrolled in Specialty 035.066 Philology (Oriental Languages and Literatures (including Translation Studies) – Korean as the First Foreign Language), who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, actively participate in university community life, display patriotism, and demonstrate readiness to fulfill their civic and constitutional duty to protect the national interests of Ukraine.
  2. Nominations are submitted separately for each semester. Students wishing to receive the Scholarship shall submit an application and the required documents (motivation letter, academic transcript or academic record, and, optionally, letters of recommendation from faculty members) directly to the Charitable Organization “Denys Antipov Foundation” by sending the application package to the Foundation’s email address (ua.dacf@gmail.com). The Foundation reviews the submitted documents, selects candidates, and forwards the shortlisted nominations to the Department of Far Eastern and Southeast Asian Languages and Literatures of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology for approval.
  3. In the event that no student applications are submitted to the Charitable Organization “Denys Antipov Foundation” during the current semester, the right to nominate candidates shall be transferred to the Department of Far Eastern and Southeast Asian Languages and Literatures. In such a case, the Department independently selects the most deserving students who meet the criteria established by these Regulations and submits their nominations to the Foundation for consideration and approval. The Foundation reserves the right either to approve the candidates proposed by the Department or to return the nominations for revision.
  4. The Department of Far Eastern and Southeast Asian Languages and Literatures reviews the candidates submitted by the Foundation, decides whether to support or reject each nomination, and prepares a reasoned recommendation for the Academic Council of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology. In its recommendation, the Department highlights the candidate’s academic achievements, research or creative activities, participation in university community life, and attaches an extract from the minutes of the Department meeting.
  5. The selected candidates are approved by the Academic Council of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology and submitted for consideration to the Scholarship Commission of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The list of students approved by the Scholarship Commission is then forwarded to the Charitable Organization “Denys Antipov Foundation” for the disbursement of scholarship payments.
  6. The named scholarship is awarded twice a year based on the results of the winter and summer examination sessions, beginning on the first day of the month following the completion of semester assessment and continuing until the results of the subsequent semester assessment are determined. The scholarship is paid once per month on the 11th day of each month.
  7. The scholarship is paid directly to students by the Charitable Organization “Denys Antipov Foundation” in accordance with the Procedure for the Award and Payment of Scholarships approved by Resolution No. 882 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated July 12, 2004 (as amended by Resolution No. 1050 of December 28, 2016).
  8. The amount of the scholarship is 5,000 UAH per recipient.
  9. The payment of taxes and mandatory charges in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine applicable to charitable payments shall be the responsibility of the Charitable Organization “Denys Antipov Charitable Foundation.”
  10. A student may be deprived of the named scholarship by a decision of the Academic Council of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology and by an order of the Rector of the University (including upon a recommendation submitted by the Foundation)
  11. The deadlines for submitting the relevant applications and supporting documents specified in Section 2 of these Regulations are as follows:
    May 31 — for the first academic semester of the following academic year.
     
    November 30 — for the second academic semester of the current academic year

Charitable scholarship in the name of the translator-koreanologist, teacher of the Department of Languages and Literatures of the Far East and Southeast Asia of the National Institute of Philology, lieutenant of air reconnaissance of the 95th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade, Knight of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree Denys ANTIPOV, who died heroically on May 11, 2022, protecting the territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine (hereinafter - the scholarship) is awarded to students of 1-4 courses (up to 8 people) of the "Bachelor" OS and 1-2 years of study (up to 2 people) of the "Master" OS, specialty 035.066 Philology ( Oriental languages and literatures (including translation)) - the first Korean who have shown success in their studies, take an active part in the public life of the university, show patriotism and readiness to fulfill their civic and constitutional duty to protect the national interests of Ukraine.
Candidates for the scholarship are nominated by the Department of Languages and Literatures of the Far East and Southeast Asia of the National Institute of Philology and agreed with the funders of the Denis Antipov Foundation. The department sends to the Academic Council of the National Institute of Philology a motivated submission regarding the candidates for the appointment of the scholarship, in which it notes their academic success, scientific or creative work and participation in the public life of the university, as well as an extract from the minutes of the meeting of the department on the nomination of candidates for the appointment of the scholarship.
The selected candidacies for the appointment of the Denys ANTIPOV scholarship are approved by the Academic Council of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology and submitted to the Scholarship Commission of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University for decision. The list of students, approved by the decision of the Scholarship Commission of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, is sent to the "Denys Antipov Foundation" Charitable Organization for the payment of the Scholarship.
A nominal scholarship is awarded to students twice a year based on the results of the summer and winter examination sessions from the first day of the month following the end of the semester control according to the curriculum, for the period until the results of the next semester control are determined.
Scholarships are paid once a month.
Scholarships are paid to students directly by the "Denys Antipov Foundation" Charitable Organization, in accordance with the procedure for awarding and paying scholarships, approved by Resolution No. 882 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 12.07.2004 (as amended by Resolution No. 1050 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated 28.12.2016)
The size of the scholarship is 2,500 hryvnias.
The payment of taxes and fees in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine for charitable payments is entrusted to the "Denys Antipov Foundation".
Students may be deprived of a named scholarship by a decision of the Academic Council of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology and by order of the Rector of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University.
